Temple Cleaning Shram Daan

Thank you for being part of the HTCC Volunteer Team and for your Seva.

This weekend Sunday, 16th Nov 2008 is temple cleaning day. We need your Shram Daan in cleaning the temple and the surrounding land. There is ample opportunity for lots of fresh air, exercise and great camaraderie as part of the seva. The plan is to start around 9AM on Sunday, and continue till we are done.
Please indicate your interest in participating in this Shram Daan by email, either by directly replying to us, or contacting the event lead, Mr.Vishwa (vishwa@htccwa.org).

Thank you for being part of the HTCC Volunteer Team and for your Seva.

Our last major event was Diwali on Oct 27, 28 and 29^th. We had 4000+ devotees show up for the celebration in the temple, including the fireworks and pujas. The event was a massive success thanks to dedicated volunteers like you. More than 30 volunteers showed up and did the seva during the Diwali Celebrations and the cleanup after the event..

We would like to hear your experiences and ideas and feedback about the way the event was conducted, and any lessons learnt etc. Please reply back to this email.

Dear Volunteers,

Namaskaram!

Thank you for being part of the HTCC Volunteer Team and for your Seva.

Our last major event was Ganesh Chaturdhi on Sep 2^nd and 3^rdand we had 1800+ devotees show up for the event in the temple. The event was a roaring success thanks to dedicated volunteers like you. Although we couldn't capture the names of everyone who showed up, here is a semi-complete list of names of the volunteers who helped on the event. This list will shortly go up on our website too.

More than 40 volunteers showed up and did the seva during the event and the cleanup after the event..

Please accept our apologies if we have missed any names. Please let us know so that we can include your or anyone you know who did the seva in this list. We have Navaratri Festival starting from 29^th Sep and culminating in the Vijaya Dasami on 9^th Oct. It would be awesome if you can come in and help for this too. Please confirm your participation by replying to this email. If you can let us know what time you can join us, and how long you can stay, that would be great.

Here is a partial list of activities you can help with.

Helping out during the Samoohika Puja
Coordinating Parking
Kitchen Tasks like Utensils Cleaning/Arranging Stuff.
Prasadam Distribution
Taking care of Garbage Cans (They fill up pretty rapidly during festivals)
Monitor kids (Keep them from running about in the parking lot, keep them entertained etc)
Manage the footwear (Lots of it is left on the floor, have to direct the devotees to the extra racks)
Front Desk (Receipts, questions, etc)

Thank you for your seva on Saturday, 23^rd Aug 2008 on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmastami.

We had 1800+ devotees show up for the event in the temple. Thanks to volunteers like you, this event was a grand success. More than 60 volunteers showed up and did the seva during the event through the day, peaking between 6:00PM – 10:30PM at night.

On Friday, 15th Aug 2008, we celebrated Varalakshmi Vratam. We had 400+ devotees show up for the Puja in the temple.

Thanks to volunteers like you, this event was such a grand success. More than 20 volunteers showed up and did the seva during the event.

Our capturing the names of the volunteers who show up is kind of based on the collective memories of a few of the team members, and it is easy to miss someone helping out in such a big crowd of devotees. We are coming up with a more robust process to capture the names of volunteers doing seva in any given event.
